What's a Guy Gotta Do to Get Something to Eat Around Here

First, a shout out to Kristy...Happy Birthday!! Hope you are having an awesome day!

Late start today...the ladies were trying to get their beauty sleep...we're talking noon!...so it's time for lunch. Lisa looked up some of the restaurants that looked good, and found a European restaurant called Becasse...a walking distance from where we were. Also the guide book says "Open" noon-2.30pm, 6-10pm Tue-Fri. So we're like jokingly saying everybody get dressed and let's get there quick just in case there's a 2pm curfew on lunch...

...well we get there...and there is no curfew...it's just the freakin' place is closed!! Okay, so we whip out the guide book and we ended up going to the restaurant inside the Hilton. And you guessed it boys and girls...the place is closed...and it clearly says on the door "Open" noon-3pm Mon-Fri. WTF! The hours are probably for New York standard time...it has to be!!

Anyways, we finally decided to go to the Sydney Tower figuring it's a touristy place where it afforded you a 360-degree sky view of the whole city. And the restaurant inside was one of those rotating deals, so it must be open...well it was...jackpot!! And then the lady behind the counter said you need to have a reservation for lunch...okay so we've been walking around for a good 30 minutes, and it is now around 12:45pm...with a big smile on our faces, we asked when is the next available one...and she said 1pm. Man, this lady was lucky she said 1pm coz there could have been a serious incident...murder came to mind.

So we're finally eating lunch, buffet style, and we got our first taste of kangaroo. Not bad. Does it taste like chicken? Actually, it has more of a consistency of, I'd say, London broil..and it does have an unfamiliar after taste (not anything overpowering, just a hint). BTW, they don't refill sodas here for free...it's $4 AUD a pop.

With our stomachs happy, we headed down to The Rocks and Circular Quay again where the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and some shops are. We ended up going on our separate ways when we got there...Christie wanted to get her opals, Lisa wanted to do her thing, and I wanted to take photos. We met back at the hotel and the ladies got dressed and went back to the Opera House for an 8pm show. Jun was not going with them because this boy does not exactly do operas, and dinner for me was diet coke and snacks in the room...at least there were no curfews to deal with.
